Welcome to the Tasmanian DSA
A big warm Hello from Tassie!
We had a ball at our first ‘Let’s go surfing’ event on Feb 13 2021 – lots and lots of Smiles on Dials! The response from our volunteers and participants was overwhelmingly positive and an amazing day of fun was had in the waves.
Our goal is to continue to provide an inclusive, safe and fun experience for people with disability and to enable them to experience the joys that the ocean and the beach has to offer.
Our long term goal is to provide people with a disability greater access to our beautiful beaches all year round.
We have formed a committee of enthusiastic volunteers and we are now planning our events for next summer. Next season we are aiming for at least one event in the south and at least one in the north.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to get further event information, register your interest as a Surfer (participant) or Volunteer or if you would like to sponsor our branch in some way.
Our events would not be possible without the support, hard work and generosity of our local community. Particular thanks go to:
Westpac Foundation / Foundation of Rural & Regional Renewals
Variety Club Tasmania / Optus / GJ Gardner / Clifton Beach Surf Life Saving Club
Young Leaders of Tasmania / Southern Support School / Red Herring
Our events are planned to be held at Clifton Beach.
Click on the event location button above to find our location on GoogleMaps.
Events will only be cancelled if there are dangerous conditions such as wild/big surf; strong winds and/or thunder storms. In the event of a cancellation we will post notices on our Facebook page.

"Great surfing experience for my daughter Sophie. She loves water. Volunteers are so welcoming and don't judge. Everyone can surf!!! Awesome surf days, wetsuits and vests are provided with a sausage sizzle, soft drinks and raffles after surfing."
