2022-2023 Committee voted in at a successful 2022 AGM.

Friday 19th-Sunday 21st August.

The first physical DSAA National AGM since 2019 was held over the weekend of Friday 19th-Sunday 21st August 2022 at Tugun, Gold Coast and feedback from all delegates was the new format with a round-table open forum was a great success that garnered a lot of cross-branch interaction and sharing of ideas.

Our weekend saw us again gathering at Tugun on the Gold Coast which has proven an ideal location with easy access to the airport for all delegates flying in from various states and a massive thanks goes to Golden Riviera Beach Resort for all their patience in accommodating us amid a myriad of booking changes!

Friday afternoon found us trying our hand at barefoot bowls (with massively varying success) at the Tugun Bowls Club and again proved to be a great social catch-up for all the delegates keen to give it a go!

Friday night dinner gave us all chance to chat, swap branch stories and relax at the Tugun Tavern and huge thanks goes out to all the staff for accommodating us happily and leaving us all very well fed!

Saturday morning gave delegates a quick chance to relax, swim, surf and chat before the official business commenced at The Tom Atkin Hall (handily right next door to our accommodation).

The AGM commenced at 11am with the official welcome and Welcome To Country before we got down to business.

Our 2022-2023 National Committee were returned unopposed and are:

  • National President: Ian Gay

  • National Vice President: Dave Hancock

  • National Secretary: Phil Christie

The National Committee will again be supported by:

  • National ounder: Gary Blaschke

  • National Financial Advisor: Shane Henn

  • National Government/Legal Advisor: Daffy Chisholm

Following a break for lunch we jumped in to our new Open Forum format for a chance to share information and updates with feedback and ideas shared, swapped and expanded on by all the delegates present. All up it proved to be a great format and one we hope to expand on next year.

The AGM officially closed at 3.30pm. Full minutes will be available on our website soon.

The rest of the day gave us chance to relax and enjoy the Tugun area with a final dinner at The Tugun Tavern followed by a 8-person pool comp that went on well in to the night!!

All up a very successful weekend!!!

Next year's AGM Weekend has already been scheduled for Friday 18th-Sunday 20th August 2023.
