The
story thus far:
History:
Mornington Peninsula Disabled Surfers Association branch formed in November
2011.
40 members of our local community turned up to our initial public meeting to
express their support for starting a MP branch - including local MP,s surfers,
Disabled and Public Health Groups.
A well balanced committee of 14 from varied background formed an interim
committee - Four from different Disability/Disability Support Groups, Surfers,
Non Surfers, Disabled Representative, School teachers and Health
Professionals. All with the same goal - to unite our community by giving
disabled people the opportunity to have a safe surfing experience and the
members of our community the opportunity to help.
The Disabled Surfers Association of Australia (A charity run purely by
volunteers) has 15 Branches across Australia and has been operating for over
26 years; The Mornington Peninsula DSA Branch formed in November 2011.
